Our retreat took place in “Andrzej's Cabin”, which is a very simple cabin with hills surrounding it. This year on the first day of the retreat we were welcomed by snow. To have snow at that time of year in Poland is very strange. We heard it hasn't happened in 60 years.
Kasia coming from Gdansk (north of Poland – 10 hours by train), Piotr from Gryfow Śląski (west of Poland - 13 hours by train).
Daniel and Ewa lead us in worship.
It was so cold that some people said this was a “School of Survival” not a “Mission School”. People took part in lectures sitting in sleeping bags, coated with blankets, and wearing stocking caps and winter coats.
Lectures were held in something like a barn with two floors – it is part of “Andrzej's Cabin”. These lectures were about:
- Introduction to missiology and anthropology. This was taught by Michael, who is teaching missiology in our school. He showed us the reason why we should understand the culture of the people to whom we would like to share Gospel.
- Why missions? I (Robert) showed that missions was on the mind of God when He chose Abraham and said to him: “…all peoples on the earth will be blessed through you.” And from that time God has been active in His plan to bless all peoples on earth.
- Mission in Khakasia (Siberia). Agnieszka and Michal Domagala were our special guests. They were missionaries for 6 years in Khakasia. They shared with us about their experience.
In the evening Mirka showed us the Russian movie “The Return”. Due to the cold, we watched the movie in the kitchen. It is a small kitchen and was very cramped for us, but it was warm. Following the film we had a good discussion about it. We paid attention not only to the contents of the film, but also for cultural differences.
Andrzej and Mirka were responsible for the retreat. Around 30 people took part coming from different parts of Poland, and from various churches. It was great that most of the participants were guys (it was strange in our Christian reality) – thanks to the Lord!
It was a special time for all of us. We hope that God will use it. Please pray that God is working in the hearts and minds of the participants of our Open School Session.

OTWARTY ZJAZD SZKOŁY
(19-21 października)
W tym roku Pan Bóg sprawił nam niespodziankę i przywitał nas śniegiem. O tej porze nie było śniegu w Polsce od 60 lat.
Niektórzy przyjechali naprawdę z daleka. Kasia (na zdjęciu) aż z Gdańska. Piotr (zasłonięty) aż Z Gryfowa Śląskiego.
Daniel i Ewa wykorzystując talent dany od Boga, prowadzili nas w uwielbieniu.
Wykładów musieliśmy wysłuchać naprawdę ciepło ubrani i w śpiworach. Tak, że niektórzy zauważyli, że być może powinniśmy się nazywać "Szkołą Przetrwania", a nie Szkołą Misyjną.
Ale to co było mówione rozgrzewało serca. Specjalni nasi goście - Michał i Agnieszka Domagała przybliżyli nam swoją sześcioletnią służbę wśród Chakasów (Syberia). Poza tym Michael Green pokazał, jak ważne jest poznać kulturę narodu, któremu chcemy głosić Ewangelię, a Robert Boryczka zwrócił uwagę, że już wybierając Abrahama Bóg miał w zamyśle dotarcie z błogosławieństwem Ewangelii do wszystkich ludów na ziemi.
Wycieczka pozwoliła nie tylko rozprostować kości i zagrzać się, ale poznać wzajemnie i podziwiać uroki tak niezwykłej o tej porze jesieni.
Ze względu na zimno, już w kuchni - ściśnięci jak śledzie, ale w ciepełku, obiejrzeliśmy rosyjski film "Powrót". Po jego zakończeniu nastąpiła goraca dyskusja - poprowadzona przez Mirkę. Treść filmu budziła kontrowersje. Mieliśmy również okazję zauważyć różnice w mentalności Polaków i Rosjan.
Andrzej i Mirka przygotowali i poprowadzili ten zjazd. Dzięki Panu Bogu za nich!
